LiveSOUNDS – Carolyn Jeselsohn, cello

Known for her musicality and expressive tone, cellist Carolyn Jeselsohn has performed throughout the world as a soloist, chamber artist and orchestral musician. She received her training at the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Merry Peckham and Allan Harris earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s in cello performance with a focus on string quartet playing.  Carolyn will present a program along with Third Street faculty Vanessa Lee, including a Cello Suite by J.S. Bach and pieces for cello and piano by Schumann and Beethoven.

 

Carolyn is an active recitalist and chamber musician performing around NYC and New Jersey. She has participated in many chamber music festivals and workshops, including the Perlman Music Program (Shelter Island, NY), Yellow Barn (Putney, VT), The Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival (Detroit, MI), the Takacs Quartet Seminar (Boulder, CO) and Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival (Blue Hill, ME) to name a few.  A dedicated teacher, Carolyn has served on the cello faculty at the Third Street Music School Settlement since 2005. In addition to a full cello studio, she is the Associate Director of the Barbara E. Field Chamber Music Program.  She also teaches a full studio Maplewood, NJ.
